Middleton Lodge Summer Wedding Inspiration | Styling A Beautiful Ceremony in the Walled Gardens

Middleton Lodge is 100% up there as one of my favourite Yorkshire wedding venues. The minute you arrive, everything just feels calm. The stone walls with black framed windows in the Fig House are definitely a little bit of me and I would like to give a round of applause to the gardeners because that really is something special and absolutely my vibe.

Phoebe & Tom’s wedding was actually my first summer wedding at Middleton Lodge Estate and they were lucky enough to get their outdoor ceremony. The sun was shining all day long, making it the perfect day for a ceremony in the Walled Gardens. Their guests kept cool with parasols and fans while a live pianist and singer, the amazing Abi Alton Music, set the scene beautifully as everyone arrived.

The bride and groom looked incredible and the whole ceremony felt lovely and relaxed, it really was a perfect day.

We kept the ceremony space simple in terms of decor, sometimes venues speak for themselves and this is certainly one of those times. We draped the chairs and tied pretty blue ribbons around them to tie in the colour scheme and at the end of the aisle, we used two white draped plinths with floral urns from the fresh florist to create a statement piece for the bride and groom to stand. After the ceremony I sneaked everything back inside to finish styling the Fig House to perfection.

We wanted to complement the venue and bring in subtle pops of the blue colour palette, but my aim is never to over do it, especially in such a gorgeous setting. We dressed the tables with crisp white chiffon which draped to the floor at either end of the tables, giving it an instant luxurious but soft feel. Along the tables we scattered blue tapered candles and bud vases from the florist. Simple stationery positioned in each person’s place and we created a wow moment on the top table.

This became the focal point of the room, recycling the plinths behind and using bouquets and florals along the front, finished off with more white chiffon to soften the space and lots of candlelight. It really was beautiful, wasn't it?! The space completely transformed while making the most of the couple’s floral investment by recycling all of their florals. A simple way to create maximum impact without needing to order lots of extra florals.

The whole day had such a lovely atmosphere, I’ve seen some content by Capture my Big Day and I can’t wait for the rest of the album to drop because the previews are STUNNING! They were capturing photo and video and I know that it’s going to be amazing.
