Elegant Champagne Wedding Styling at Oaklands at The Grand Lodge | Emma & Asher’s Yorkshire Wedding
When couples ask me which venues I genuinely love working at, Oaklands at The Grand Lodge is always at the top of my list. I’ve been lucky enough to style so many weddings here over the years. As a recommended supplier at Oaklands, it’s a venue I know inside out, and every single time I arrive, I know it’s going to be a gorgeous day.
The team are some of the friendliest people you’ll ever meet. They’re incredibly welcoming, nothing is ever too much trouble and they genuinely look after every supplier on site. It might sound like a small thing, but even offering suppliers drinks throughout the day makes such a difference when you’re setting up for hours. It’s those little touches that tell you everything about how a venue is run.
For me, it’s simply one of the loveliest Yorkshire wedding venues to work at.
A Wedding Planned Two Years in the Making
Emma and Asher first got in touch almost two years before their wedding day, which is actually really typical for my couples. Most of my diary fills around 18 months to two years in advance, especially for popular Yorkshire venues like Oaklands.
From our very first conversation, everything just clicked.
They had a clear vision for an elegant celebration that still felt full of atmosphere and not overdone. Together we created a design centred around soft champagne tones with subtle gold accents, perfectly complementing the natural, wooden character of the venue.
Styling That Worked With the Venue
One of the things I love most about Oaklands is that it already speaks for itself.
The beautiful oak tables are one of my favourite features because they’re far too lovely to hide under tablecloths. Instead, we let the natural wood become part of the design.
For Emma and Asher’s reception we styled the tables with: Champagne chiffon chair draping, gold charger plates, white linen napkins, gold accents through the candle holders and lanterns and soft candlelight to create warmth within the table scape. The finished look felt luxurious but still perfectly suited to the rustic elegance of the venue.
The room itself is such a fantastic blank canvas, you could use any colour palette and it would look gorgeous. The exposed beams and impressive lighting create character before you’ve even added any styling.
Flowers That Completed the Look
One of my favourite parts of this wedding was seeing everything come together alongside the incredible florals by Floral & Lace.
Their floral designs complemented the styling perfectly. The soft neutral blooms added texture and movement without taking away from the overall colour palette, creating a beautifully cohesive look throughout the reception space.
This is exactly why I love collaborating with talented suppliers. When everyone shares the same vision, the end result is sooo worth it!
Charlotte White WeddingsandLottie Bone Photographycaptured every detail so beautifully and I know Emma and Asher will love their photos forever thanks to them.
Why I Love Styling Weddings at Oaklands
There are so many reasons I recommend Oaklands to couples looking for a Yorkshire wedding venue.
The venue offers multiple spaces, allowing the day to flow naturally without guests feeling confined to one room. Whether you’re getting married inside one of the ceremony spaces, enjoying drinks outside overlooking the lake or celebrating in the main lodge, the vibe will always be great.
Emma and Asher’s wedding was a perfect example of how thoughtful styling, beautiful florals and an incredible venue can come together to create the wedding you’ve been dreaming of.
